*Tennessee Residents: If you live in the state of Tennessee you pay $105 for your marriage license.

If you attend 4 hours of a premarital preparation course and present a certificate of completion your cost will be 38.50

*All Non-Residents: If you are getting married in Tennessee and obtaining a license from any other county besides Sevier "here in the Smokies" the price of a license is about $100.00 (depending on the County) . A license purchased in Sevier County only will be $38.50

* If your spouse has a Tn. drivers license and you have one from out of state you will be charged $98.50

You may pay for your license using Visa or MasterCard if you wish.  or cash.

You may apply for your license online!  You will be furnished with a reservation number, then all you have to do is bring your res.#, and ID's, sign, and your on your way.   Pre- Application

And now for the rest.

Both participants must be 18 years of age.

Present a valid drivers license, or certified birth certificate.

Present a social security card if not a drivers license.

If not a United States citizen, you must present a valid passport.

If either of you have been divorced or widowed, you will need to know the exact date that the divorce was final or date of death. If the bride has had a name change in her divorce and has not had her name changed on her drivers license, she will need to provide a certified copy of her divorce decree.

There is no blood test.

There is no waiting period.

License must be used within 30 days of issuance license can be used same day applied for.

The court house cannot send out applications for marriage license, both bride and groom must be present and payment is in cash, exact change is appreciated.
